Energy Access:

Access to modern energy is essential for the provision of clean water, sanitation and healthcare and for the provision of reliable and efficient lighting, heating, cooking, mechanical power, transport and telecommunications services. It is an alarming fact that today billions of people lack access to the most basic energy services, nearly 1.3 billion people are without access to electricity and more than 2.6 billion people rely on the traditional use of biomass for cooking, which causes harmful indoor air pollution. These people are mainly in either developing Asia or sub-Saharan Africa, and in rural areas. In Somalia, 97% of the rural area inhabitants are experienced lack of Energy access, while in Urban live IDP's estimated nearly two million those face lack of energy access as well, among these they depend on firewood which they collect mostly outside their camps, this caused many times GBV against women those initially were suffering the distance while collecting the firewood in order to cook or heat.. Rayaan Foundation schools don't work night shifts because of lack of electricity, also our health clinics as well because of lack of electricity.. Energy Access to the low income and vulnerable society in Somalia mainly women and children are very curious.
